I’m a Senior Fellow and Editor-at-Large for Public Health at the Kaiser Family Foundation and Kaiser Health News in the United States. I am also an infectious disease specialist and epidemiologist. I am the host and producer of the EPIDEMIC podcast. And my mother is from France, having immigrated to the U.S. in the 1970s.
In Season 2 of EPIDEMIC, we plan to tell the story of smallpox eradication on the Indian subcontinent. I’m looking for a journalist/reporter/fixer in France who can help me track down and interview the family and friends of Dr. Nicole Grasset, one of the leaders of the eradication effort in south Asia. I’m also interested in interviewing her biographer Jean V. Manevy if he is still alive.
Warmly,
Dr. Céline Gounder
